Bipasha Basu Workout Routine And Weight Loss

Bipasha Basu can be easily mistaken for someone having good genetics that have helped her to become one of the hottest stars in Bollywood. However this is not entirely true. Bipasha Basu was always the target of criticism for being overweight, and she took to fitness, a healthy diet and exercise with a vengeance. Her height is 5’8″ and weight is 140 pounds. Bipasha Basu reveals the secret of her fitness-her workout routine.

Bipasha Basu did not care much about herself, until a newspaper headline mentioned how fat she was. She further had to keep her weight in check when she was to do a role in No Entry movie, knowing fully well that her tummy would be exposed. That was a wake-up call for her.

The workout followed by Bipasha Basu is mixed, i.e, she mixes up her workout so that it does not turn boring. Her workout is as follows :

Day 1 — Upper Body Workout

Day 2 — Abdomen Workout

Day 3 — Legs and Lower Body Workout

Day 4 — Gluteus Maximus (butt) Workout

Day 5 — Upper Body Workout

Day 6 — Abdomen and Gluteus Maximus Workouts

  • Bipasha Basu devotes a total of 45 minutes to 1 hour every day for her workout.
  • However, over-exercise can be harmful. She damaged her left knee owing to excessive running on the treadmill.

Bipasha now takes care not only to exercise regularly but also to maintain her fitness. She spaces out her cardio workouts within a 50 minute session as follows,

  • 20 minutes – Treadmill
  • 10 minutes – Elliptical Trainer
  • 20 minutes – Rowing Machine

Endorsing brands such as SugarFit, Bipasha Basu recently started her own brand named BB- Love Yourself (Bipasha Basu-Love Yourself), and came out with her fitness DVD “Fit and Fabulous You” along with Shemaroo Entertainment. On her DVD and brand, she said:

“Be strong and healthy, love yourself. Make time for your own self. looking good is an extra bonus. If your health is good, every aspect of your life is fantastic! Your focus in life is better; you achieve your goals faster. Exercising and eating right is a big challenge. But we have to accept this challenge, if we love ourselves!”

The DVD by Bipasha is based on her personal workout routine and is mainly focussed at women, but men can also try it out. Bipasha further added:

“Today everybody wants to be fit but what I am trying to focus is not just on physical training but mental as well. My mantra is to love yourself and work out for your heart and soul. It has done wonders for me.

I promise that if you religiously follow the workout you will not only reduce weight but also strengthen your heart and body.”
